This year was a little different than last year. $11,000 was given away in 5 scholarships and another $10,000 was set aside for an endowment fund. The endowment works like a savings account and each year the university will take the interest from the account and give that away as a scholarship. The nice thing about an endowment is it goes on forever, long after all of us are gone!

Mike,
I just wanted to thank you and all the patrons of your website for providing these scholarships to students like myself.
I know that everyone reading this knows first hand how expensive flight training is and how valuable scholarships are.
I can honestly say that when my name was called, my heart was beating a mile a minute, and on behalf of my family I want to extend my deepest and most sincere thanks to you and your patrons for this opportunity to be able to affordably continue my flight training.
It is because of generous people like you giving back to aviation, which makes it possible for the students of today to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Thank you so much,
Christopher Haney

Mike,
I Just wanted to drop you a quick line to thank you and your members for the scholarship you awarded me yesterday evening at the Southern Illinois University Aviation Management Society banquet. This is my 1st scholarship award and it will help to finance my flight training at Southern Illinois University. I am sure you know how expensive flight training can be, being the established pilot that you are. I wanted you and all of your members to know how much I appreciate what you did, and that their contributions to the website are going directly to further the cause of aviation. It is people like you, giving back to the aviation community that make it possible for the dreamers of today, to become the pilots of tomorrow.
Thanks again.
