We've Aviation Professionals Prepare for their Interviews!
  • Applied end of last year after reaching my hours and heard from a recruiter approximately 2 weeks ago to schedule a phone call. Phone call about 3 days later to answer some brief qualifying questions and schedule an interview for this week. They flew me in the day before and put me up in a hotel near the airport and the interview was the next morning at a conference room at the hotel, so super low stress logistically. There were three of us interviewing and the interview was hosted by two HR/recruiting team members that were very friendly and awesome at their jobs. Started with an overview PPT...

I was called for a phone screening in the first month of the year, and had my interview last month. They fly you out to Charlotte the night before and put you in a hotel. The interview is the next morning in the hotel conference room. You drop off your logbooks and wait outside. Then, they start with a presentation about the airline and benefits and then call you back one by one to do your interview with one HR person and one recruiter/pilot. The HR last asked me questions, (view the study...

Similar to previous posts, the interview process was just as described. First of the team there was amazing and really made the process pleasant. When you arrive you will get an introduction of the company and have the opportunity to ask questions. After that we went back to the waiting area and they called us in 2 at a time. You will introduce yourself, asked a few TMAAT questions. Then you will move on to the technical portion and read a METAR, answer some questions, brief a jepps ILS...

The interview began with two HR personnel present but no pilots in attendance. The HR team asked many questions that were not included in the preparation materials, but they were not difficult—just unexpected. They inquired about what personality traits best describe a Part 121 applicant and what traits a coworker would use to describe me. The technical portion of the interview followed a standard format, including a weather briefing and an approach plate briefing. During the briefing,...

Got an email from a recruiter that I was moving forward in the application process and to select a time for a phone screening. Phone screening was the next week, about an hour long. Started with TMAY, Why Piedmont, TMA your most memorable flight. It was very conversational, low stress. Recruiter gave a lot of information about the company, training timelines, what the interview process would be like etc, and gave me an opportunity to ask any questions. At the end of the call they said I...

Simple and straight to the point. Spend the early part of the process in a conference room with the other candidates listening to an presentation about the airline, pay, benefits etc. and answering any questions. The same people giving the presentation were also the interviewers so it was easy to build a comfortable setting. While you are in the presentation they are reviewing all of your flight documents (logbooks, certificates, medical). Interview started with general company questions...

Overall, the experience was excellent. The initial step was to introduce myself and explain my reasons for wanting to work here. The most challenging task was decoding ALQDS on the Metar. I also briefed on an ILS approach, TAXII chart with no hotspots, so be prepared to suggest potential hotspots and finally on escaping from a microburst if the aircraft were to encounter...

Very enjoyable, straightforward experience that is like others have said on here. Be yourself, calm, collected and confidant. Practice answering the "tell us about yourself" question's and the other TMAAT questions. Know your METAR's inside and out. Basic WX principles, thunders storms and micro bursts. Practice briefing an approach (JEPP), how you'll enter a hold and why if you need to. When you will need an alternate. Airport diagrams. Study the information provided on this...

Very similar to previous interviews this year. Phone screen, email flight and hotel info to KCLT for the interview. There was eight of us interviewing, zero pressure during interview. Call us back two at a time in the same room, you cannot hear other interview session. Sit at a table with someone from HR and a pilot who will conduct the technical interview. HR questions.  Then Technical questions, (view the study guide of this website).  Decode a printed metar BR GR +TS RB40...
