Just completed my first in person airline interview with Horizon Air. I didn’t get the job. Interview seemed to go fine, but clearly I need to adjust my interview prep/style. 1. Submitted my application early this year. About a week later, received an email, to set up a phone screening (no webcam). During the phone call I was asked “why Horizon” and then questions about my hours. At the time I only have about 350 PIC hours in MEL aircraft and they wanted me to have 500, they said call us back when you hit 500 PIC MEL. 2. Hit my 500 hours a few months later, I emailed the HR rep and didn’t hear anything for a month. Finally got a response to reapply. 3. I resubmitted and got another phone screening email a few days later, said they would like to conduct the interview this week. They setup the flight and hotel and provided instructions of how to get picked up by the shuttle. 4. AviationInterviews had the most accurate gouge that reflected the interview, so I recommend that. There was zero technical questions asked, which is what the airline interview gouge suggested as well. 5. Very little documents requested from them. Just your logbooks with tabs for your check-rides, pilots license, fcc radio permit, passport, and any LORs. 6. I arrived at 840 am for a 0900 showtime. Three...

Overall a good experience. Interview went like most others on here have said. There were 4 of us for the interview that day. We checked in and waited in lobby for a bit. Talked with each other until around 9am. At 9am, we met with our interviewers and went in for a presentation about the company. We learned about the history of Horizon, company values, benefits as an employee, and what to expect if hired. We then went to wait in the common area and were pulled one by one for an interview... -

Horizon Air is an extremely professional regional under the Alaska Airline Group. I applied for the experienced first officer position in the middle of the Summer and after 2 months of silence was told to resubmit under a new posting that opened in the Fall. I met the experienced FO recruiter and a Captain at a hiring event in the next month and giving both of them my resume while discussing my experience and why I wanted to work for Horizon. I received a call 2 weeks later to schedule a... -

The questions were STAR, tell me about a time... similar to the questions listed on here, if not the same. No technical questions. Very professional and kind. I wore business professional, and I brought copies of all of my information they requested. I also brought 4 copies of my resume. They didnt need... -

I was selected for the Experienced first officer position. I met with the base chief pilot and HR rep. They were very welcoming from the start and they provided lunch as well. Started off with a presentation and then they call you one by one for an interview. After the interview, if you get the CJO, you do your fingerprinting and drug test there. There were a total of 4 of us and 3 of us got the CJOs. I was asked TMAAT questions, (view the study guide of this... -

Interview was the same as the gauge found here. Started off by the chief pilot going over my flight hours as I was given a presentation on the AAG. the interview was held in a conference room, very relaxed atmosphere with a three HR reps and one chief pilot. Interview was about 30 minutes and covered just TMAAT questions. I interviewed for the experienced FO position and wasn’t asked technical interview questions. Horizon gives you an answer on the spot. Study the HR portion and... -

This is for the Pilot Development Program. The day started at 0930 with a brief slideshow presentation about the program and Horizon as a company, then went to Admin where they checked my documents, Passport, Certificates, FCC License etc. Then we moved right into the interview portion where it was mostly what is on here in the study guide questions TMAT relating to the core values of Horizon. There absolutely was a question on diversity, in my case they asked me to define diversity and... -

Interview was as straight forward as others have stated on here. Pretty relaxed overall. The day started with a brief presentation then they gave us lunch and took us in one by one for the interview. There were three applicants when I interviewed. To the best of my knowledge all three of us received job offers. I got asked HR type questions, (view the study guide of this website). I was asked the standard FAA interview questions. Then the interview panel said they would discuss outside... -

I interviewed for the Experienced FO position. 4 interviewees total. The day started at 0900 with a briefing about Horizon Air. After approximately a 30 minute brief, we went to the lobby area to wait for individual interviews. It was conducted by an HR Rep and 1x Chief pilot. They took approximately 30-40 minutes per interview, and were very standard questions per the study guide. All HR / TMAAT questions. It was a bit of blur, (view the study guide of this website). They left the... -

This interview was all HR-related questions. They started by asking all of the questions I had answered on the application and over the prescreening call with a member of HR (have you ever been in an accident, has the FAA ever taken action against you, tell me about your checkride failures, etc.). They then moved to discussing my aviation timeline -- have your resume to follow and make sure your dates are correct. After reviewing my timeline, they proceed to the TMAAT questions....
