We've Aviation Professionals Prepare for their Interviews!
  • It took 2-3 months for Propel to schedule the interviews due to operational constraints in the summer flying months. The day was pretty straight forward. You recive an email with what to expect for the day. Although you receive a checklist of things to bring they typically want more. Make sure to have your certs/docs ready to go, they make copies before your interview. If you went to a University Part 141 school with full examining authority from PPL-CFII (this is only applies to one University) you need to have your flight record report printed out in the expanded view (all lesson and tasks). The flight record...

Very professional process once you get on the Delta campus. You wait in the pilot lobby after you go to the check in office. Then someone will come and take your documents and verify them while you wait to be called in for your interview. There was no technical questions the questions were tailored to your application and aviation experience. Why Delta and why aviation were the first two questions I was asked and then the majority of questions were scenario based and most are on this study...

Upon arriving on campus, I checked in at the front office where I was given a name badge. From there, I proceeded to the building next door and waited in the main lobby outside the Pilot Selection Office. It’s hard to say whether they observe candidates in the lobby, but there’s a steady flow of people walking through, including some who enter the Pilot Selection Office. When it was time to begin, a team member came out, introduced themselves, and escorted me into the office. I...

Take 3-5 minutes to introduce yourself and your aviation story. I was asked TMAT Questions, (view the study guide of this website).   Scenario-based questions.  Closing: Do you have any questions for us? Overall, the interview was only about 45 minutes, there was no technical portion, and they seemed to expect that you tie in elements of your experience into the scenario-based...

No technical questions besides one about diverting to an airport in the event of an engine failure situation (always safety first), all situational/HR based. Tailored to your own resume. They always ask about a job or experience not aviation related, so be able to explain and talk about all experiences you put on your application. Just be personable and you will do great! A couple of question of "Why Delta" and about the Propel program as...

The entire interview only took 30 minutes. A guy at the front greeted me and took all my documents to the back and later two pilots came out and introduced themselves and we went to a room inside the airport FBO. The entire interview was only HR based even though I am a CFI. They just wanted to get to know you and make you feel relaxed. The majority of the questions were from the study guide and it was spot on. Overall it was a good experience and I am just waiting to hear back from them. I...

Quick interview, 30 minutes. I was last for the day. Had all my information tabbed and organized. 2 line pilots, not overly friendly but professional. Asked general question about how I got into aviation. Asked about any failures, and I reviewed the check stages failures using STAR and what I learned. Asked me if I felt those failures were "unfair." I said I didn't feel they were unfair, emphasized what I learned and that I understand that this is part of the career. Asked...

They begin with having you explain about yourself. Afterwards they will ask a few of the HR questions (they are also woven into the scenario based questions). The interview is almost all scenario based questions. They will pick and tailor questions to your resume. The interviewers are focused on your leadership and decision making skills. Be prepared to explain all leadership roles. Overall very straight forward...

For sure helped me along the way, I am still waiting to hear back from them as of now. First portion is just getting to know you and why you chose Delta and Propel. There are challenges as well, so making sure that you have some challenges youre going to deal with when entering the Propel Program. Then went in to situational based questions, and lastly just overall questions. Fairly simple, but they will try and push you to try and possibly change your...

I interviewed with 2 current Delta pilots. They made the process very easy. They reviewed my application and documents and asked questions specific to my background. Interviewers have a binder of questions they can pull from and it was tailored to you. The interview lasted about 45 minutes in total. Overall a very good...
