Interview Experiences From jetBlue Pilot Interviews :
-
1. Great experience, what I was given was exactly what the interview was like. During the interview I had an HR employee and a Pilot interviewing me. they asked me 5 TMAAT questions and was very straight forward. Once that was completed, one of the Chief Pilots took you to another room where they went over your resume with you and got to know you a little bit. Once that was over you went back into the common room with the other applicants and spoke to a few more pilots and asked any questions... Continue reading this interview experience..

2. Very smooth and comfortable interview experience! They take their time to get you settled in and it's truly a Class experience! As many of these recounts tell, they bring you in and collect all of the paperwork from the packet that was emailed to you. They then do a fantastic meet and greet with everyone who will be conducting interviews as well as the logbook reviews. After introductions, we went on a tour of the entire facility, in which they fielded many questions and gave lots of info... Continue reading this interview experience..
Study Guide Questions for Your jetBlue Interview:
- 1. If hired, what would you bring to JetBlue?
- Talk about the unique qualities that make you you, use supporting evidence (like gpa if you say you are a good student), tie it to their values if you can. If possible, tell them what influenced you to grow into that type of person.
- A motivated employee that will not be a training issue
- I talked about being a passionate worker who will always put the customer first. I used my resume to defend this answer. They seemed to like that.

- Turn a negative question into a positive learning moment. Pick a scenario that doesn't paint you or the company in a poor light.
- Picked a scenario where I was a first officer, inflight emergency where I was initially overwhelmed, but overcame to bring the aircraft safely to the ground, and pushed for a Safety notice about aircraft engine oil caps.
- 3. Do you have any checkride failures?
- Honesty is the always the best policy when it comes to this question.

- No
- 5. Approx. how many hours have you flown in the last 12 months?
- 530
- 700
- 600
- 205
- 580
- 6. (Jan 16, 2025) Why do you want to work for JetBlue
- I have two friends that work for JetBlue currently, and they constantly tell me how much they love the atmosphere! It is a true testament to the company, and if I am going to leave my current job, I only want to go to a company that has a vision and has a plan for growth. JetBlue knows where they are going, and has that vision. I would love to be part of a team that is working with a vision to achieve a mission.
- I talked about my passion for customer service. JetBlue tends to go above and beyond when it comes to customer service. I talked about how I would thrive in an environment like that. I also talked about all the positive experiences I've had with their crews. They always seem happy.
- 7. (May 19, 2024) Tell me about a time that you were under stress in the workplace
- During training. My previous job being my first 121 airline, there were a lot of different things from what I was used to. Definetely made training a stressful environment.
- 8. Tell us about your resume?
- I just gave them a general resume review, but highlighted the exceptional points that you can’t necessarily fit into a one-page resume. Not a bad experience, but you have to do it multiple times in the interview.
- They asked me to walk them through my resume, and describe how it makes me a good fit for JetBlue. They requested it is three minutes or less, but I definitely went over 3 minutes. That didn't seem to be an issue
- 9. Tell about a time you had to make a quick decision.
- Talked about flying to destination airport with unforecasted ceilings below mins. Went missed approach 2 times and had to decide whether or not to attempt a 3rd approach (plane before me was barely able to sneak in), divert to alternate that had lower than expected ceilings slightly above mins, or divert to unplanned alternate.
- 10. Tell us some background information about yourself.
- I went to the AF Academy
- Grew up in a small town, went to a public school, served in the military, have a bachelors degree and have been in the aviation business for 13 years.
