2. Alaska Airlines will positive space you to Seattle the day before, its really up to you how early you would like to get there. I arrived about 5pm so I wouldn’t have to worry about checking into the hotel too early. It felt like plenty of time to settle in and walk around a bit to scope out the training center where you’ll start the interview the next morning. Study Guide Questions for Your Alaska Airlines Interview:
- 1. What would you do if you just departed Sacramento and the FA calls that a passenger is having a very bad medical emergency?
- Return to Sacramento. Notify, ATC, dispatch, and ops.
- 2. Would you go around if you were inside the marker and you get an anti-skid fail?
- Yes
- Go around. Use the QRH
- 3. Tell me about a time you went above and beyond for customer service?
- I helped retrieve passengers lost cell phone.
- 4. Have you ever been involved in an aircraft incident or accident?
- I am fortunate enough to have been able to say no.
- 5. Tell us how you got started in aviation.
- My father was a pilot
- 6. Tell us something unique about yourself.
- I know how to ride a unicycle.
- 7. Have you had any training failures or checkride busts?
- I had, so they asked me to explain. I had busted an IFR and commercial check-ride. I didn’t make any excuses, just explained what happened.

- United, jet blue, American southwest

- 10. Why Alaska?
- hometown airline, great customer service
- Excellent financial position for growth. Not heavily leveraged by debt.
- I’m from the Northwest and not looking to move, so Alaska is a natural fit for me in the long run. I also like the culture here at Horizon and expect it to be similar at Alaska.
- I live in the Midwest currently with my sights set on moving west in the next 3 to 5 years. Alaska is a choice that helps me put down roots for where me and mine want to be.
