Interview experience:
Got the call for a phone interview. Basic questions covering your resume: Who walked in your resume? How do you know them? How long have you known them? All in all, took about 20 minutes. Then I was invited down to CVG for the face-to-face interview. That consisted of a four-on-one interview. There was an Airbus 300 Captain, 727 Chief Pilot, HR lady, and director of Standards. They took turns asking you questions about your resume. Nothing technical, just get to know you type stuff. They were all very friendly, two of them were intimidating though. The only "what would you do if..." questions I got were these: You are a new SO taxiing out, the Ops Manual says all three pilots have the airport diagram in front of them, but the FO refuses. WWYD? Also, you are in the training department down the road, you disagree with a company procedure, do you still teach it the companies way even though you disagree with it? If you wanted to change that procedure, who would you speak with? Just one HR question: First, as a pilot what would you bring to this organization? Second, as an individual, what would you bring to this organization?
Three interviewed, two were called back the next day for the sim. Its an A-300 sim. Takeoff, radar vectors to intercept an airway, direct to a fix for holding, radar vectors to an ILS. If you brief the holding entry correctly, you probably won't have to enter it. I didn't do the sim prep due to short notice, but I guess it's worked out well for those who have.
It took about a month for them to call me back and offer me a class date. I subsequently turned it down. Great airline, great people. They've invested alot of money into their US overnight system and it would be a great career choice.
