FREE Amerijet Pilot Interview Information and Gouge

Interview experience:
Interview started by filling out paperwork, the usual stuff w-4's, application package with addresses and phone numbers of previous employers, pria paperwork, and a 20 question written exam about general aviation knowledge. As you complete the paperwork they call you out to take a drug test and finger printing. The written test is fairly easy, its question and you provide the answer, no multiple choice. Some of the questions: What is the protected airspace on a dme arc? How many miles out does the glide slope guarantee obstacle clearance? What is a CSD? What weather conditions can cause windshear? What conditions are condusive to icing in flight, and on the ground? The other questions posted already on this site are all correct as well, I just mentioned some that were left out of previous posts. The interview was very casual, didnt really feel like an interview. No technical questions asked just a get to know you session with the chief pilot and assistant chief pilot. There were no psychological tests administered at all, broke for lunch at about 1:15 pm and met at the simulator at 1400. It was Alteon right across the street from the airport on NW 36 Street. The sim ride is pretty straight forward, dont need to know flap speeds or anything about the 727 really. They are just looking at your instrument flying skills. If you fly about 1.25 to 1.30 epr you get about 250 kts. You climb out of JFK to 5000 feet do some turns and get comfortable with the plane, make sure you trim its a breeze to fly when you have it trimmed right. They then clear you to hold on a nearby vor, in my case south on the 180 radial right turns, was on a 210 heading so briefed a parallel entry and slowed to correct speed of course (200kts). Didnt even have to fly it briefing was enough. Then maintain 210 kts and descend to 2000 vectors ILS 4r at JFK, just maintain headings and correct speeds. The ILS is a breeze with the flight director, the fo calls for and sets flaps at the correct time and speeds, they just want you to fly. Hope this helps!
