Interview experience: What a cool company! Very relaxed atmosphere. We where given a 25 question test out of the ATP question bank. No figures or charts, just questions. They did not give us the IQ or cognitive test. I know that people that have interviewed in the past got other tests that you had to match numbers on a chart and match up shapes or something. We didn’t get that. Either they got rid of that part of the interview or they just skipped it on us. The tech and HR portion was very relaxed as well. I was given a Jepp plate and asked to brief an approach as I would if I where about to fly it. A lot of questions that had to do with situational awareness and common sense in an IFR environment. Things that wouldn’t be in the AIM or Jepp introduction but that made sure you wouldn’t fly into a mountain if you where put in an unusual situation. HR was pretty basic. Why Island Air? How would your friends describe you? What are your goals? The usual questions. Very cool company and very relaxed but impressive interview.
